March Book Club...a night all about Hair!

Thanks for hosting a really fun night Liz!!

The book, Miles from Nowhere was not a hit with us. I would say it wasn't a terrible book, it just didn't have much direction. The author should have pick one theme (drugs, prostitution, rehab- nice stuff) and stuck with it. Instead the book was all over the place, and you left feeling maybe a little sad or disturbed but not much else.

Some of us also read, The Catcher in the Rye, it's of course a wonderful classic. Such a great story of teenage confusion. Most of us loved it, whether we were reading it for the first or second or third time, it will always be an American Classic!

Ok now on to the fun stuff....

We had a great spread thanks to the wonderful Liz Lewis! Which included Cheese Fondue, Mini Pizza's, Pigs in a Blanket, Shrimp Dip, Artichoke Dip, Bleu Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms, and Salami- YUM! Thanks again Liz!

Topics of conversation included but no limited to: Sandra and that nasty husband (aka Vanilla Gorilla), chimp attacks, outlet malls, Fernando's, Gap/Banana Republic Sales, Octopus Birth, Short Sales on homes (thanks to our new member, Kris questions could be answered), movies, Bradly Cooper, Mall Madness, celeb kid styles, Anthropologie, working out, cats, dogs, hair, wedding hair, hair cuts, and hair extensions.

Some of the best quotes of the night included:

"Typical boy that doesn't clean himself."
"The only reason to stop drinking wine is if you're trying to lose weight or you're pregnant."

While last night was about meeting for Book Club, let's be honest we all really learned the most about hair extensions- thanks to Lisa. I know everyone is highly anticipating the before and after shots.

Before:

BC girls: "So let me get this straight...you have to use special shampoo, the hair is from India, you have to change your work out routine, it takes 6+ hours to have done, costs $**** (we'll leave this blank as not to shock our "readers"), you basically need a class on how to blow dry it, it needs constant upkeep, and only lasts 3 months"
LJ: "Yep! Can't wait."

  1. HAHA! Great post Molly, you truly captured the night! I forgot about the wine quote - classic. It also reminded me that I needed to start watching Cougar Town. Great BC - thanks Liz!
